Hi all! I have a question about color, something strange going on with two of my chicks. I only have one roo and he is a purebred AM. I only have one maran hen and she is splash. According to the andalusion blue code I read, I shouldn't have two black chicks with feathered legs. Correct? I shouldn't be able to get black out of splash and blue...and I have no other feather-legged bird besides the splash maran so it has to be hers. What am I missing?
I hope this made sense and I don't look sound like too much of an idiot...

Hello all from Ohio!
I have 8 Olive Eggers ( lav amer x bcm) that are almost 5 weeks old.
Any helpful hints on how to tell sex?
I have 2 with no tail feathers, legs are large, wings have a geenish tinge, and have developed slower.
7 have tail feathers and are solid black, seem to have smaller combs.

Hey chics - looks "roo-ish" to me, but like I said earlier, my skills in this area are questionable!

X2 on roo. I had a BCM roo that I knew was a roo but he waited to crow til he was almost 8 months old!

I was kinda hoping that he was just gonna stay silent for ever.

Thanks BeccaBeeOly and Hatch me if you can. I really appreciate your help. I kinda figured but didn't want to rehome unecessarily. I have grown quite fond of him. I will post him on KSL to find a good home. I am not allowed to have a rooster where I live.

No harm waiting until he crows to be sure, unless you don't want to take up space in your coop/heart...

I don't see anything wrong with keeping him around either, until he crows he's just one of the "girls" LOL
