It would be so cool to see her chicks!!!
Congrats on the fertile eggs. I think the cross would be very cool from either rooster. They would both be interesting to see!

I have a question. Has or does anyone have a
Cuckoo Marans over a lavender amerucauna picture of the offspring? Will they be barred lavender? (Which would be awesome) I have a lavender amerucauna in with my cuckoos to make an olive egger off spring, just curios!

If the roo is Americana and the girls are cuckoo marans, their offspring will be sexlinked: the boys will be barred B/b and the girls will all be not barred b/-
The boys will have a white dot on the head as chicks and the girls won't. I don't know anything about the lavender gene, so that part I cannot answer.

Thanks the roo is cuckoo marans and the hen is lavender amerucauna. Anyways she is a project I am working on with my cuckoos. Definitely will be hatching some of those eggs . When she starts back laying .

Okay, so this week my Olive Egger has started laying her eggs. Very consistent, only missed one day out of the entire week. But, the problem is.... they are not so Olive. I had looked at pictures online and was expecting this:

but instead I am getting something like this: (The brownish ones in the picture)

I have been calling them olive so far, since it is my favorite color, but really, it isn't all too Olive. She was an Ameraucana Hen and ?BCM? or some other Marans cross. She has the pea comb so there was supposed to be a 97% chance of the olive egg. Her sister/brother had the straight comb, and had a 97% chance of laying brown. However, he/she died so I will never know, but it was definately a rooster anyways....

But my question- is it safe to call those eggs in the second picture, the brownish ones, olive, or did my OE turn out to be an 'Brown Egger'?
