The Olive-Egger thread!

I have OEs that are Cream Legbar x Crele Penedesenca. They are not in the Ameraucana world so EE does on really apply.

The Ameraucana folks call any chicken that does not meet the APA Standard for Ameraucana EEs so OEs that are bred from Ameraucanas would be a type of EE to them. EEs can lay green eggs, which would DQ them As Ameraucana even if they met one of the standards in other ways.

It does not matter to me though. I think they are all great and I like the variety of egg colors from the EEs and OEs. One of my OEs has been laying a grey egg.

Very nice!
out of this last hatch i have 1 female crested cream legbar, 1 female blue isbar, and 1 wheaten Marans cockerel. What would u do if these were yours?

My olive Eggers came from breeding white rocks and americana roo. Also have some offspring that were from same roo and Rhode islands they should start laying soon. All birds also inherited the small pea comb and none got a bushy face either.

Here was there father. He has since gone to another farm to someone who wanted just a rooster around. He should settle down without all his gals around to be protective of.As you can tell he bred them to often there backs were getting bad.

If you were inquiring about my pic then yeah he may not be full americana breed got him as americana listed. There actually are very few true americanas left from what I've read most have been hybrid or crossed somewhere and americana is just the name they use at hatcheries alot.
