Agreed, that hen is gorgeous. I have one pullet and one cockerel that look like her. My other pullet is barred and not nearly as pretty. When they are older I will post pictures. Please post a pic of her eggs when she starts laying!

What was the blue egg shell cross? If it was Araucana based and not Cream legbar, there is a good chance she will lay brown eggs. I do not see peas in the comb, which for Auaucana based blue shells, the gene is something like 95% associated with a pea comb. Not sure if I should be happy or sad. I was just told by the farm I got my Black Copper Marans from that one of them is actually an olive egger after I sent him some updated pics of the two BCM's I got from him. I think she's a beauty but was set on her laying me some dark brown chocolate eggs. She hasn't laid yet but should be in the next couple of months. I do have olive eggers on my wishlist so I am not too upset but also not too happy that I got something I wasn't expecting. Anyway, here she is Miss Molly. She even has the feathery feet of a marans. Anyone else have a BCM olive egger?

Post back with an egg picture when she starts laying!
That is more complicated since there are a lot more brown genes. The egg should be brown but the darkness of brown is unknown.Ugh, yeah I just read about the comb and it's looking more and more like she probably won't lay an olive egg since she doesn't have the pea comb."It is said that there is something like only a 3% chance that a single combed bird from these crosses will lay a blue/green/olive egg." Oh well she is pretty to look at anyway. I wonder if she lays a brown egg if it will be a dark one though.

I have some silver ameraucana hens and a crele penedesenca rooster I'm going to rehome. they make a nice olive eggerI got my gray OE Olivia from My Pet Chicken back east. I was told she was BCM x either Ameracauna, or Legbar. Opinions on which? She doesn't look like my Ameracauna crosses, but that's definitely not the Marans comb either. If she was Legbar, wouldn't she have the crest on top of the head? I see some birds on here that look similar in build to her. I think J bar farms has some. Thought maybe some of you would have ideas. She is VERY vocal. Quite the personality. Just curious. Thanks!
