The Olive-Egger thread!

I am sorry, I know how frustrating it is to lose a roo you need for a project or two. I lost my Blue Copper Marans roo last week and I was planning my WHOLE breeding for next year around him

Oh well maybe it is for the best in the end.... we will see. Now all kinds of new ideas are popping in my head and it may work out better anyway.
yeah sorry about your Rooster too..

My first goal was to breed my Empordanesa and work on them but at the same time throw some blue or green egg layers in there too.
well same as you now unsure about what 2013 will hold for that plan lol.

I have other roos so I am not in a bad pinch... I have been there and don't want to be roo less anymore. I have 2 Black Copper roos and 1 more Blue Copper. I started to grow out a few little roos a few moths ago, but I don't think I can use them..... but not ready to sell them yet.

If anyone is listening.... learn for our little mistakes.... keep more roos if at all POSSIBLE. If you don't you will lose it and be in a mess ..... JMHO.....

Wheaten is real pretty; I'll bet you will get some nice big pretty birds with that cross, especially if the Marans is a nice big guy like he should be.
This is one of my Ameraucana girls. She really has a huge beard. My neighbor has 3 or 4 Wheaten Marans roos. He has several colors of Marans and Blue Ameraucanas and Welsummers. The blue Ams and Wheaten Marans are my favorites. When I had the chance to get some Wheaten Ams, it was a no-brainer though I mostly have Cochins and they still are my all time favorites.

Yes, "too many roos" isn't as bad a problem as "not enough roos". So sorry you lost them.
