The Olive-Egger thread!

Your barred looks just like my mystery chicken! Like identical twins! I thought he/she was a barred too but now it's grown some mutton chop like things and the comb has slowed down growing as well. I'd love it if she was a she!

I'm always interested in your latest hatch =)
How does the egg size / color of the silver ameraucanas compare to any of your other blue eggers?
Did you get the UofA blues direct, or from ronott1?
Hangtown Farms had Crystal from the UofA Blues thread ship them to me--that was before Jason bought the R Com incubator.

My UofA blues are at Point of Lay and I will start breeding them soon. They will become part of an egg laying flock for a local farmer. They are very heat hardy too!

the silver 's I got are a lighter blue egg medium size

Ok I have a wired thing we have a flock of 15 .two are EE hens 1 is EE roo but we are getting 3 blue/green eggs on some days I'm confused
400

I have two green egg layers, and a rooster who I believe is also from a green egg, Incubating my first batch of chicks now, day 4 into incubation. I also have him crossed with barred rock and Colombian Rock hens. I am Really wanting to find some pure breeds that lay the blue egg, but have had no luck AT ALL. Really wish I could find some. I think the green egg goes very well with the brown, I love collecting such a diverse basket of eggs!

Where are you? I might be able to point you to someone close.

Hangtown and ronott1 - thanks for your replies.
How would you characterize the UofA blues egg color/size?
Good to know they are heat hardy - more so than crested cream legbars or ameraucanas?

They seem more so than the others at least mine where less heat affected. at least than my ameraucana. I do not have any legbars or crosses anymore.
I am not sure on egg size and color though I am told it is good. Mine are still young just a few months old. I need to get some updated pics

The little one on the top right.

I am located in Orangeville Ontario, an hour away from brampton Barrie Newmarket...

Wow, that is unknown territory for me. Try looking up the Americana breeders near your area through the Canadian breeders association and asking them if they also raise Olive Eggers or sell their roos to people who raise Olive Eggers. You might find someone in driving distance (a couple of hours) of you.
