Do either of you plan to cross breed them with blue or dark brown egg layers? If so, what outcome are you hoping for and would it include hybrid vigor especially with regards to egg size?
ronott1 - Pretty cute, your first UofA blue egg, great timing for the post; 4 months seems pretty young, do you think she will burn out early?
I would guess that your olive eggs are CCLxCP? My 3 OE sisters of that mix had eggs that went through quite a few phase changes, some stayed more olive, some went more blue, and there were some sandy textures, but they each did something different. I'm guessing that's due to the hybrid effect. They also had a lot of double yolks early on.
