The Olive-Egger thread!

My experiment began when I crossed this EE roo, to a RSL hen.

Then came out this monster,
this spring we hatched two chicks from him.
One was mothered by a Black Cochin hen.

The other was by a Tetra-link hen.

We came out with two cockerels.

I'm so excited to see how they fill out!

Sill, did you get those using Easter Eggers, or were they pure Ameracauna's? By what I've read here it looks like eggs produced by 1st generation OE hens made by crossing a brown layer and a true Ameracauna should never be brown. Sound right to everyone? However, throwing an EE in there sure can make things interesting! Has anyone gotten the gray color from a true Ameracauna cross with no EE? Really appreciate everyone's input, thanks!
The rooster was a F3 OE and hens were BC Marens and a BR. He obviously did not have the gene for blue, or maybe only one copy.

Okay so here's the thing...this F2 Oliver hatched March 2 and since the 'V' was not defined like a pullet's should be I thought roo, right? Well...at 16 weeks old and no comb to speak of I'm thinking :fl maybe pullet. Any thoughts on this?
He/she is such a sweetie. Also, I noticed white ear patches on her/him.

Today, after a 6 month wait I finally get an egg! This is the hen that was supposed to lay olive eggs.

Alas, no, she is the layer of the pretty blue one...you know what tho? I'm still glad she's a she and maybe she will give me daughters that will lay the elusive olive egg!

My very first olive eggs are hatching this very moment. Two have pipped and hopefully will out of their shells soon.  I can't wait to see what these chicks look like.  I had no idea if they were fertile and/or developing or not.  Candling reveals nothing since the shell is so dark.  Now I'm thinking I should breed these chicks back to a BCM to get even darker eggs??????

Here's the basket of eggs I just took to incubator.

Bo, that is one pretty basket of olive eggs. Uniform shape and color just awesome. Very jealous!

Sigh. I lost my olive egger the other day, but she was so pretty. I loved her chocolate feathers. Her name was Eminem (like chocolate MnMs) and laid a pretty olive egg. I hope to get more sometime.

Her egg:
