The Olive-Egger thread!

How's this egg color?

I saw the pullet lay her egg. I think she's the only one laying right now, so her initial egg was very dark, but the last ones were lighter. Still olive, but less dark. Hopefully she will work it out.

These olive eggs came from this girl who came from Meyers Hatchery, I'm calling her Olive Oil.

Blerg! I lost sleep the other night over the fact that my favorite little pullet ever, purchased as an OE (RIR x Wheaten Am) suddenly appears to be a roo. I don't mind having a roo as much as loosing out on having any olive eggs at all, for some time. S-he is hanging out with my Isbar trio which works, (but that makes 2 roos to 2 pullets) and I can put...him in with my Ameracuanas to get some future OEs I suppose. It is not a total loss. I may just purchase some OEs from Myers now. Any Advise?

I kept one OE cockerel that I'm planning to rehome as a rooster. I'm sure in the spring someone will want him. It takes a while to rehome them sometimes...just have to wait for the right home to come along. I already have 6 other roosters/cockerels so the OE will have to be rehomed for sure. He's gorgeous though, so I'm hoping that will help his chances.
