I find the best way to bring out color is to simply put it against other colors of eggs, especially something simialar to it (green or blue in this case)

Perhaps I should start trying out ways to photograph my own colored eggs - I find lots of people ask about how to bring out the proper color.

I have 5 eggs in the incubator now, the hens are my cuckoo marans and the roosters with them were my true Araucana (smooth faced and rumpless) and 2 Ameraucana roosters (blue laced red and a blue/yellow). I can't wait! They are due to hatch on the 27th.

Now, if I get a couple of pullets......breeding them back to my other true Araucana rooster will give me what? Could I get some hens that will lay those purplish to pink eggs??

I went back through all 46 pages of posts looking for those purple eggs.....they're MIA. I'd love for "everyone" with those pink to purple eggs to show some pics and what crosses got you there....perty please

I forgot to add that I have a chick from my clean faced/tailed, blue bantam araucana hen and my mottled serama rooster. I don't know if this rooster is from brown egg laying serama's or not but I know some do lay brown eggs. I have another little blue egg in the incubator now too.

These are my first olive eggs going into the bator! (from Sonew123)

I also have new pullets I just hatched that are Barred Rock x Ameraucana/x crosses. Any chance those will be olive eggers? I'm just learning all of the genetics.
