I thought it look like a coating! It makes it look chalky. When I washed it, it was as olive as the others, but dried up to that grayish hue.

How do you get a purple egg?

Well, purple as I've known. . . It's a plum color really. It's an extra coating like on your egg but on a Marans egg:

My Wheaten Marans girls lay these frequently.

MAN! I didn't even know that Olive eggers existed! now I have to urge to get one type of chicken per egg color (for example, 1 ee, 1 oe, 1 bo, etc. What are all the colors that you can get? (eggs)

Here's a good photo of all the egg colors except dark green/olive, REALLY dark olive and a really good green.

My young OE's hatched from Alicefelldown's eggs. They are amusing little boogers

I love this photo! I've lined up my own eggs in color gradations, but I'm missing the olive, true blue, and very dark brown, so it's not much to look at. I'm working on adding olive right now. I'll find out what I got in the next month or two.
