In the spring I should have hatching eggs. I have Barred Bearded Olive Egger Project birds. Right now I have a sizable flock of pullets that should be producing some great eggs in the spring. (Jan-Feb) One of the hens that were laying before the weather got bad were producing a very desirable olive green that to me was almost "jewel toned", the egg color of the hens that were laying was a very consistent olive green. I can't wait to see what the pullets lay in the spring. The birds from these matings should be Barred bearded, Black bearded and barred and black non-bearded. They will be covered by barred roos only. Offspring should be Barred bearded, Barred Non-bearded, Black Bearded and Black Non-bearded. They may have combs of different types, but the goal is for this to be a Barred, Bearded bird with a pea comb.
