Unfortunately the voles got into my garden and killed almost all of my potted plants under the snow.

Here, I see wild violets and the earliest daffodils. I do need more crocuses, now that you've reminded me.One of my favorite flowers, probably partly because it's the first you see in the spring
Ack, those evil voles! We battle them all the time here.Unfortunately the voles got into my garden and killed almost all of my potted plants under the snow.
Sorry about your plants. They are bad here too.Unfortunately the voles got into my garden and killed almost all of my potted plants under the snow.
This year, I'm trying to plant basil in between all the tomato plants to keep out hornworms. I read that it deters them. I guess we'll see. I planted over 50 tomato plants we grew from seed the day before yesterday. That's in addition to about 10 others that we bought at the county co-op.Sorry about your plants. They are bad here too.
Last year just before harvest time they got in my carrots. Ate half of the bed underground and left the greens. Left the garlic and onions on each side alone. So this year I planted garlic all around my carrots. Just started to thin for baby carrots. So far, so good! I will pull the rest soon when I harvest the garlic.
That's alot of tomatoes! You can/freeze? I am down to my last case of home canned tomatoes. This year, I'm trying to plant basil in between all the tomato plants to keep out hornworms. Wow! It is! Sometimes I wish they could stay at the fuzz ball stage just a bit longer. They grow so fast. The Omegas are 5 weeks old tomorrow. Amazing how fast this has gone by us.
We do, yes, but mostly we just have them for slicing so we can put them on our burger patties or chop them for our ground beef bowls (we're mostly carnivore). I haven't had pasta in years and years so my own canned tomatoes are pretty much gone now, the last few jars pilfered by my older son. If we have a huge surplus, we'll likely can them and/or give some to a nice neighbor lady who used to buy eggs from me when I had extra. That's alot of tomatoes! You can/freeze?
