I think they smell bad too.

They've been a problem for awhile, never want to go inside when I allow them some time outside to exercise and dust bathe. And then, there's Duncan. I don't think that The Bouncer deserves a crock pot and all I can do is suggest that if he's keeping one as a flock rooster, that would be the one I would choose. They're in the little covered pen and it's cloudy so it's getting a bit dusky and he's not supposed to be here for another 30 minutes. Maybe that will subdue them a bit and I can catch them in the pen, which is twice as big as their inside pen they had. At least they won't be eating my feed for another few weeks. I'm exhausted from having to do so much alone around this place and they were so challenging to deal with separately. I do think I took Hazel's boyfriend, though. She was staring longingly into their pen and wanted in there with them. That's great news about finding someone to take them. Not so great about Duncan. I'm sure it'll be a relief to see them gone.
I know. And I did. I had to be the tough one here. My husband has no stomach for this stuff. I don't either, but I didn't want to keep five males here eating the expensive food and causing trouble every single day. Duncan attacked my shoes when I was trying to catch them all and as I was carrying him to the little pen where we show sale birds to customers, I told him that if that man wasn't expecting five roosters, I'd wring his neck right then and be done with him. I came really close, lemme tell you. And it still might happen anyway, but I won't be the one taking him out.Sometimes you just gotta grit your teeth and do what needs doing.
My sympathies.
