not sure why but the budgies chewed the corner off the second nest box???

but there’s 2 eggs in it!

Momma Bella reclaimed the original nest box and is on 6 eggs! i’m really hoping that no one invades the nests this time!

The first new budgie hatched today!! trying to figure out moving momma and the nest into the cage for added protection.

Budgies are truly enjoying the fall weather!!! We’ve already reconnected the thermostat to the heater to make sure the indoor space stays around 50 for everyone on the chilly nights

We got our first real snow for the year yesterday and temps are at the lowest point for the year as well! Mr muddy just checked on everyone as the thermostat low temp alarm was going off. Inside temp was around 43 but all were doing well. They are venturing out occasionally to eat but not staying outside very long.

Just to make “all ya’all”. (I am so good at this Southie talk) feel better about your abnormally warm winter. I would post this to show you ours is normal..

I have not had an egg in months. Lazy chickens.

It flooded, then snowed, warmed up and flooded again and now back to single digits and teens! And half the babies fledged!!!!! 3 newbies out in the aviary….. daddy gets them all back inside before dark!!!!

I long for those warmer single digit days….
