The Pita Pinta Asturiana

If you click on the link that says pet rock, it will take you to her profile on BYC. You can send a PM for there too.

@PetRock is the thread starter.
I don't have a website, yet. I need to get my son to help me set one up! I do have my Pita Pintas in a separate breeding pen but have not been collecting eggs for hatching. I hatched lots of chicks this year and it seems that fertility dropped some at the end of the season. My birds are starting to molt so not laying as many eggs as they used to. I will have eggs available in the early spring.

Since PetRock mentions that one purpose of this thread is to share pictures of pita pintas, here are Odette and Odile taking a dust bath; this is the first time I've seen one in progress. So cute! They roll around like cats!

Love the pics! Keep them coming! I don't seem to get out and take pics very often but I love seeing other people's birds!

Glad you are enjoying them! A friend just sent me a very cute one of them coming home in a cardboard box; you can see their markings very well.

They do grow quickly. I see a feather so they may start molting soon. Watch for the new feathers to be darker.

It is good to see them eating the feed too.
I'm so glad you suggested that I change it. They still won't use the ladder; I'm starting to wonder if they want me to carry them up every night!

And I think they are definitely starting to molt -- there are several feathers around.
