The Pita Pinta Asturiana

Wow, sold! This breed sounds like a great match for me. So, of these photos I found on Google Images, which conforms best to the standard (if there is one??).

or more white, or more like him--darker?

I found this on Youtube:
There seems to be a lot of whiter birds in this flock?

A couple of pages back are pictures from poultry show in Spain. It shows the different "looks" that are ok.

There seems to be a wide variety of Standard from Spain in the coloring.

The second pic is my cock Zorro, the father of all my Pita Pinta's hatched this year! He could use more white but I only hatched 2 cockerels and 7 pullets from the eggs from Megan. The other cockerel ended up with brassy colored hackle feathers so he was the first PP that we processed.

This site has the Spanish standard of perfection and it has listed as a disqualification if the bird has less then 75% of white feathers in primaries, secondaries and main tail in the mottled. :

And this article has some pics of Pita Pinta with more white:

I just went to the show site that AngelPitaPinta posted on page 10. It is great to see the photos, and at the bottom of each is the place winners. They are very civilized at their shows, serving wine with the trophies, I see!!

Although the mottled hen with the most white got third, I noticed...

Thank you, I'll read through the sites. I love seeing all the Basque words; "X" is the telling letter...! (My dog's name is Xavi...famous footballer in Spain.)

And i just found this interview with a guy in Asturias!
(Newly enthusiastic, i know. Please be tolerant!)

It is great to see someone new discover them!

Thanks for the video. It validates what we have here now since our Pita Pintas look just like those. They also love to forage like that and the boys are so big!

Here is a video of some Pita Pinta chicks. The filming is not steady but it is a good film to watch to see the difference between young cockerels and pullets!
