The Pita Pinta Asturiana

Pics
@Hangtown Farms

Just to clear up the confusion, Pita Pintas are a brown egg laying breed. The eggs are creamy feeling, not colored. If they laid white eggs, I would worry about them being a different breed.

@PetRock Someone turned me in even though the roosters were in the garage and not bothering anyone. They have all been processed and I will not have more here.

Maybe one day I will move somewhere that allows roosters.
I'm so sorry to hear that, Ron! My hens can be as noisy as a rooster and I keep waiting for the dreaded letter.

Aww....Ron, I am so sorry to hear that.  You had really been involved and studying the breed.  You helped me a good deal in my pursuit of the Pita Pintas.  Keep on keeping on with the advice, and suggestions, please!

I am sorry, too, and I also owe Ron many, many thanks for his generous help and advice.

Jeepers, you all need to move to the country! Otherwise I'll be the only one left and I am only just a year in with the PP's! The one rooster I kept is a lovely guy, nice temperament, and great to his ladies. I only kept the three nicest hens, though. Hope I didn't cull too hard, but I'm used to doing that with the Splash and Blue Marans I raise...

A few cute shots, including the girls checking out my friend's new book on late antiquity.

My hen, Catalina, is suffering from egg yolk peritonitis right now and apparently the prognosis is not good. Going to get her some antibiotics & hope she makes it. Here she is a couple of weeks ago with her buddy Flora (Catalina is in front). She a great chicken, friendly and always curious about what I am doing when I try to take pictures. :)

So sorry that she is sick. I hope that she recovers!
