Joseph hadn't seen any people since before the Infection. The zombies on the other hand, were increasing with every mile he traveled. Civilization, he thought, what's left of it anyway. He knew that in order to find survivors, his best chance would be in the towns and cities. The problem being that he wasn't much of a city person, and zombies didn't help with that fact.

He knew he was close, but he didn't realize just how close until he came around a bend in the trail he had been following and saw someone ran out of the forest a few hundred yards ahead of him. Quickly, he dropped to the ground and slipped behind a tree, watching from a distance. It was unmistakably human, but it ran as though it were injured; a sure sign that it had been attacked.

Then he noticed something, 'Its very quiet...' The birds had stopped chirping. Rather than stay and fight whatever was stalking him, he decided to sprint towards the person had run out of the forest just a moment before. He broke into a full run, stopping when he reached a trail of foot prints that he led to the person he had seen. He looked around carefully, listen to everything. Its not safe here, he thought to himself...
Hurrying after the tracks, he found that they led to the door of a building. The handle was broken off, but it wouldn't open. Looking around, he found different sets of human tracks.

Seth was hidden away in the trees. He had watched as a girl, about 18 years old, was running towards the city and was attacked from behind. He was about to jump down and help her when she kicked the zombie Ito a trunk, splitting it's skull open and killing it instantly. Plus, she had a very sharp looking dagger and didn't want to risk having that slit his throat. Then she running blindly towards the city. He stayed up in the trees, not willing to see if there were other zombies ready to jump out and attack him. The girl had obviously been injured. He just hoped it wasn't a bite from a zombie and just from getting thrown to the ground, but he doubted it. Though, most people wouldn't notice it, since the girl had obviously been trying to hide the fact that she was hurt, he had noticed and took note of it. If, indeed, she had been bitten, it would take less than 3 hours for her to turn. He watched as another guy, a little older than himself, follow the girl, and then went in an opposite direction. At least Seth knew there were survivors. He hair hoped everyone that had survived, stayed alive.

Joseph headed back to the forest to where the person had run out. He looked around for anything that might explain why she was running.
"Whoa," he said, looking at a dead zombie. "That's a pretty good explanation." He figured there were probably more around, and he had an uneasy feeling of being watched. But it didn't feel like zombies... His right hand pulled the escrima out of the top of his back pack.

"No kidding." Seth said. "Jumped out and attacked her out of nowhere." He was leaning back against the trunk of the tree, balancing on a thick branch.

Seeing that the boy didn't seem to pose a threat, Joseph replaced his weapon. "You seen any body else around here lately?" He inquired.
"Name's Joseph by the way."
