Boy Fred you said a mouthfull there huh? and I agree right along beside you.Ken, the White Rock should meet the weight stated in the Standard. If the bird is dense and well built, it WILL be smaller than much of what is seen today. The Standard is correct. If folks wish to raise and show White Jersey Giants, they are invited to do so. I'm prejudiced and biased and openly confess it. The White Plymouth Rock should be what the Standard calls for and if it is tightly feathered, and thus, appears to the modern eye to look "smaller", then so be it. To me, that is a true White Rock.
Save me some eggs this spring. LOL I'll be in touch. Love to see what you've bred and your choices for cockerels and pullets that you're happy with going forward.

Plenty of good stuff to see on your beautiful SP Rocks....namely, nice heads, yellow legs, body depth, tight wing carriage, good tail spread and overall balance/symmetry and type. Thanks for sharingHere are some pics of my 2013 sppr pullets that hatched March and April. I note that they are not lifting their tails yet, but expect that they will be soon. Last year I was worried because the pullet's tails were droopy looking but before long they were beautifully tented.
Forgive my photography; they don't want to stand still for a side shot. My question: when there are dark slate feathers showing up when the wings are not spread, is this a disqualification?
