What the heck went wrong with this one. Anyone care to help me? lol

He is going to the pot, but really.. I have no idea what could have caused this.

I laugh every time I look at this photo. He is a walking basketball.
I have a Partridge roo like that too.... guess I will add him in with the other for the roo guy later in the week. Dang that will leave me with just one reg Partridge roo, I have 2 in my project pen though so I should be ok.

Here's young White Rock that Ken posted early on in this thread. That is nice, wide, thick, big, freak, call it what you will, but that's a head. Nice to have a photo from this "plane" to see a nice skull. They're either born with this or they're not. I see many of our birds that also have that nice skull and a few that do not. We can't neglect this feature when we're selecting your breeders.

When do you first look for it? One of my mentors says, "You find it in the brooder".

Yup, those White birds were bred for years by Robert Blosl. They're in good hands at the Weaver estate now.

Fred, Wynette and Yard Full Of Rocks, and whoever else wants to chime in :)

Can I get your opinion on using this girl in my breeding pen?

31 weeks. I don't like her barring, BUT is her type good?

I have someone who is going to let my wife free range her wine cellar in exchange for a couple girls. She gave me 4 bottles of wine for a rooster. Have to pick out 2 pullets now for more lol

She isn't that far from the White outcross. I can see it in her. She's loose around the thighs and her head is not very good. She does not show a cushion, and is very full breasted. Cannot see her tent, but it looks pretty good from this angle. I cannot see the spacing between her legs.

She's a lot less than what you'd probably prefer to use? If I mated her at all, she'd be in my B or C pen, and I mark the eggs and the chicks hatched accordingly. Are you forced to use her?

No not forced. She has one of the best front ends I have, which is why I am iffy on using her or not.

All of them have a good tent. I don't have any pinched tails. I got rid of those early.

I have 20 girls. I think this one has the poorest barring of them all. I'll trade her for the wine. Thanks for your input :) I really, really need the nice barring.

Also should note that he had some barred crosses running free with them. This could be from one of those girls. I got the eggs in June, which was after breeding season. He only had a couple of those crossed girls.
