I think that's a good plan. Whites are a very good benchmark for all other Rock varieties. I will be watching the maturing time line of males very closely.Raising these two varieties side by side this year has been a thrill and wildly educational. I believe that time marking the achievements of the Whites will give me a goal to shoot for in the Barreds.

He's not purebred. I'd not use him in any breeding program. Here's the grand sires of some of our birds. This might give you something to study and compare what a quality, bred to the Standard Barred Rock should be. Welcome to the thread.
