My polish cockerels HeiHei (Golden Laced) and Terry (Buff Laced) could never see with their beautiful crests in the way, so I grabbed some small pony holders and now they can see like any other chicken, without having to cut their feathers!

They only seem to scratch at it for a minute or so, before they realize they can see and enjoy it!
 
Haha they look great! What kind of elastics did you use? I tried to do that with my polish boy because one of the older hens pecks his Crest at night but every elastic I've tried with him he manages to rip right out...I even tried using sports tape and he yanked it off but it was still dangling from his feathers. :barnie

Well they never held forever, we just put them on slightly high enough so he didn't know where it was.

I'm so glad that the random pic viewer on the homepage showed me these awesome pictures!
