The poop on pigeon poop?

Pigeon people what's the truth about pigeon droppings.
I now have 69 trips around the sun if pigeon dropping were going to kill some one I should be at the top of the list or better yet in the ground. Removing the pigeon dropping plays a factor in your well being possibly. I employ 2 tarps that I exchange once one is soiled. The soiled one I leave in the sun to bake and dry and scrape with the back side of an iron garden rack. Plus I use nylon mesh feed bags to line my nest boxes which have the same properties as the tarp and if anything clean even easier.

Dirty birds... yes they are. Any captive bird is a "dirty bird" due to being stuck most of the time in one place. I have not seen where anybody has invented a broom, mop, or vacuum cleaner that a pigeon can operate. Also, it's hard to get those tiny rolls of paper towels and tiny squirt bottles of cleaning products :) The solution is to clean their living quarters frequently. It should always be dry as well.
As for the poop being infectious, I don't know - maybe it has some germs in it. All I know is, I LOVE THE SMELL OF PIGEON POOP IN THE MORNING. It smells like joy.

we collect our birds poop and store it for use in the soil when we plant veggies in the Spring. It does make great fertilizer. I have also added it to my compost pile sometimes, I was taught it helps the Nitrogen balance of the compost......

I also collect the poop in empty seed bags and give them to a neighbor who is glad to have it for high quality nitrogen in his compost pile which then goes into his huuuge garden. :)
