The Poop

thanks for the link, good info to have.

my question is more about shape than color: my hens' poops are most often the same blobby shape, but recently i noticed some skinnier and longer poops (see picture below normal poops on right, new poops on left). what might be the cause of this? anything to be concerned about? the color and consistency seem normal, just curious.

I have one hen whose poo always looks a bit loose, especially compared with the others. Wondering what ‘normal’ chicken poo looks like, I found this, http://chat.allotment-garden.org/index.php?topic=17568.0. Seriously profound subject matter!

After viewing these 'riveting' images of normal, and not so normal...chicken poo, I'm thinking she's okay, although I have to say that some of these samples don’t look normal at all to me!

Hello, I am a new chick mom and I have a chick that is almost two weeks old that is constantly getting pasty butt. Her poops are firm but still having a problem with them sticking. My question though is every time she poops she chirps super loud like she is in pain. Could she possibly have some sort of bowl problem that is the reason she keeps getting pasty butt and perhaps hurts her to poop. The poop is brown and looks normal and I dont see any blood in it or anything. Thank you in advance for your help!
