Is anybody here a fan of The Princess Bride, book or movie? I just finished what must be my 50th re-watch, and enjoyed it just as much!

Okay, I can't type out The Princess Bride once every sentance. I announce a new abbreviation: "TPB"!

Normally, I say the book is always better. But with TPB I consider them both equally great!

So... Who is your favorite character?
Wesley and Buttercup

Favorite scene?
The fight between Inigo and Westly.
Miracle Max's house

Favorite quote?
''As You Wish''
"My name is Inigo Montoya! You killed my father, prepare to die!"

Fun memory of this:
We were watching it at my old summer camp (god I love that place) because there was a huge storm. We would usually have been at our evening activity. This is obviously pre covid, so you've got 100ish girls that are all really good friends in pajamas and all enjoying the movie. We got to the part just after they climbed up the rope, and "the Dread Pirate Roberts'' (Wesley) climbed up after them. Right after we got the line "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." There was a HUGE thunderclap and the screen, along with all of the lights, went dark. It was the perfect dramatic moment!

Wow, awesome! That's epic!

That's so sweet!

I loved their back stories! Inigo's was sort of inspiring (I love how motivated he was, just forget how he wanted to kill someone) and Fezzik's was hilarious! I love telling people how six-year-old Fezzik broke his dad's jaw on accident!
And then he cried about it because he felt so badly. Such a gentle soul!
