Jim Elliot was apart of a group of missionarys who traveled to a remote jungle (I don't remember what country) to bring God's word to the natives. They were very hostile people and knew their lives were in danger for going. So he said that he wasn't a fool if he lost something he couldn't keep (his life) to gain something he would never lose (his soul). He ended up being killed as a martyr along with the other missionaries. But his wife also traveled their after his death and converted the same natives who killed her husband to Christianity. And they stopped murdering people. You can look up Jim Elliot to find more stuff on the story.
