I've always admired having chickens. Had them growing up and thought they were awesome. :) Even though it may sound pathetic, my dream in life was to have raise some of my own. So happy that dream has came true. :D

Same q :)

Got them when I was 3 for a source of healthy and garbage-free meat and grasshopper control. Started keeping a few hens for eggs a year later. When I turned 6, we had 30 chickens, and now we have 45!

well it really wasn't my dream but it turned out to be part of it haha i mainly wanted a horse and my dad said that the Weldon Equipment had chicks so we got the last 7 chicks which were gold links about a week later they had 4 barred rocks left so we got those.... we had those for about a month and then we wanted to get some silkies and we were looking on Craigs list and found 4 silkies nearby we got them and we thought two were roos and then we thought one was a roo and it turned out none are roos then about 3 months ago our neighbor didn't want his 8 chickens anymore so we took them they were white leghorns then about 1 month and 1/2 ago we got 6 brown leghorns from TSC for Easter.... after 2 of the white leghorns died turned out they were a high stress breed and when we moved them to a bigger coop one had a heart attack and one was egg bound.... when we got the chicks home we put them in a tote with a heat lamp and about 4 weeks ago we found out three of my little chicks are roos no butchering these guys are going to live a good life :) as i type this they are jumping for joy haha
