The Quizzical Chicks - Barnevelders or Partridge Rocks?

IMG_4375.JPG
Here are some of my 2018 barnevelder pullets from Ideal for reference. Nice enough birds but they do NOT want to be touched at all.

Ok the pullets (hopefully pullets) are 6 weeks old. We decided to take pictures of each of the 5 'quizzical' chicks. So here goes...
1st chick
8-7-18-Chick10-1.jpg

She is the mostly black one.

2nd chick
8-7-18-Chick11-1.jpg

This one has none of the 'gold' coloring coming in the hackles.

3rd chick
8-7-18-Chick12-2.jpg

She has the gold hackles and more extended color throughout.

4th chick
8-7-18-Chick14-2.jpg

She's a lot like the second chick. No gold in the hackles but she has more overall coloring.

and lastly the 5th chick
8-7-18-Chick15.jpg

This one is more like the third chick.

So it's like there's 3 types. The 1st which is mostly black. The 3rd and 5th which are marked with gold in their hackles and 2nd and 4th which aren't. So that's our latest photo update. I'll keep doing updates as they grow and what they turn out to be pullet vs roo and breeds if we are able to tell as they grow.

3 and 5 are likely partridge rocks. 1, 2 and 4 could well be Barnevelders, in my opinion. I've never raised them, though, so someone with more experience with Barnevelders like Lady of McCamley has a more valuable opinion than mine.

The first one is a cockerel.
The rest appear to be pullets.

Oops, doesn't look like the message I intended to send got through. I wrote that 3 and 5 are probably partridge rocks, and 1,2, and 4 could well be Barnevelders. But I haven't raised Barnies, so Lady of McCamley's opinions should carry more weight than mine.

#1 is the only one that looks like it could be a cockerel to me, but it's by no means definite at this point.
