Chandi clenched his talons slightly but otherwise did nothing to give away he was awake. He didn't much like the effect the peregrine had on him and didn't want to confront her.

Chandi shifted and buried his head deeper in his wing, attempting to block her out.

Valiki closed her beak and lifted off the branch to catch something, her elegant wings catching the breeze.

Relieved Chandi untucked his head and looked at the ocean. It was sunrise and the sun and its colors were reflecting off the water.

Valiki spotted a seagull, quickly caught it and flew back.

Just as he saw Valiki returning he took off in search of something to eat. He spotted a deer fawn and dived, sinking his talons in its tender neck and knocking it to the ground on impact. This would be enough for the flock he thought and screeched that he had killed a fawn for the flock to eat.
