The RE-Build of Les Farms

Well, go on a memorial day vacation and wonderful things happen!! The rebuildt barn is wonderful, and in the same colors as our barn--which needs painting!! I must say New Orleans was great fun. We day tripped Saturday, as my Son-in-law had to be back to base by 10 pm.
Yes things move quickly! I can't wait to take a week off and really enjoy the barn :) I plan to. I want to spend the week that we have the goats come home.

Me too!

I have to ask him about ventilation.. Last time I asked there was more than enough all along the eves of the building, but now that the OSB is up - it confuses me.. How does ventilation work with an insulated barn?

does he have roof peak vents in place to help pull the hot air out through the peak? Attice type exhaust fans (they make them solar too) might be an option as well.

it looks amazing, cant believe how fast they get things done

It looks fantastic! :D Is the OSB up just to cover the insulation?

Also, I was telling my mom about you guys and how your barn rebuild was going and we wondered if you wouldn't mind sharing what it cost to put up?

Yes there is a roof peak vent, but if the OSB is covering everything in the room, how does it pass through the OSB to the vents? So confusing to me :p

Yes they do work fast! They are working on the doors over the weekend, and next week electrical and breeding/brooding pens!

Any suggestions for type of paint to cover OSB easily? That's our job. I don't mind painting.

Here are the workers taking a lunch break. Henry is their supervisor

The cost may shock you ;)

Insurance covered the barn for 46,000$ We will be over that when you consider the road, the extra cost for flattening the base (that the clean up crew was supposed to do) and the electrical not up to code. It will be worth it in the end for the extras. We needed that road.

Phew!

But well worth it after seeing your pictures of that beautiful new barn! Okay, thank you for the response!

Probably would have been less if we had of went with one without a master craftsman degree. :) He's honest and hardworking and gets the job done on time. Plus most of it comes out of insurance, so we had a lot to work with.
