The Rebellion ~ A Poultry RP

Laya sat quitely in the corner of the hutch, watching beane run around in his normal, panicked mode. She saw the farmer coming and puffed up her feathers, trying to look bigger. The farmer opened the hutch's door and he filled the feeder and the water bowl, don't you dare come near my eggs!!, laya thought to herself.

The farmer finished and closed the door, laya sat there watching beane," hey..., Beane?! Calm down, he's gone" she said kindly

Name: Beane
Type of poultry (options are chickens, ducks, quail, and pigeons): Coturnix quail
Breed within poultry type (optional): Coturnix
Gender: Male
Age: 1 year
Personality: Screams a lot (at least the quail equivalent of a scream). Literally never stays still. Easily panicked- so easily, in fact, that he is in an almost constant state of it. Not able to think logically when he’s scared (and he gets scared a lot). If you manage not to startle him, he’s actually pretty friendly.
Physical description: His coloring is called Tibetan tuxedo. He has one blue eye and one half blue half brown eye. He’s actually pretty small and skinny for a coturnix. He has a bald patch on his head from being scalped by a female quail and scabs on his feet from minor, constant bumble foot.
View attachment 2269576View attachment 2269577Other (optional): Beane flirts with chickens.
( Hey awesomerooster ( @RoostersAreAwesome ) wanna rp?!)

Oma-San (the elderly motherly Silkie who has hatched almost every bird on the farm) ambled over to Laya to check on her. "Don't forget to keep the eggs rotated," she reminded Laya. "You want to be sure all have equal heat to grow well. It takes great courage to stay seated even when startled."

Guinny (Oma-San's Cream Legbar sidekick) was still fluttering about after the Farmer's interruption. Oma-San chided her to settle with a "squawk" and abrupt peck on the head. "Be quite Guinny, Laya is brooding babies!"

Laya looked up at the kind silkie," thank you, oma. This is my first time and I could use advice like yours," she said with a kind, gentle voice.

"Don't worry Laya," Oma-San cooed, "your body knows what it must do. Listen to your heart, close out all other sounds, think only of your eggs beneath you in their nest. You have the strength."

Oma-San toddled over to the freshly filled feed bowl. She never could resist just an extra nibble. Guinny, as usual, followed her lead, though still a bit breathless from her startle with the farmer.

"Guinny, you really need to remain calm. You only ruffle your feathers needlessly" the wise Oma-San cajoled. Guinny gave her a lop-sided nod as she buried her beak into the feeder. Both knew she would flutter at the next whisp of a sound, however.

Laya was glad for the advice, she closed her eyes and ruffled her feathers to cover all the eggs. although, beane running around in a mad panic wasn't helping her focus .

Gid looked away from the ladies for just a moment...which turned out to be several moments. He couldn't take his eyes off the gently rolling farmland and the mysterious forest beyond, all through the wire of the fence. That wire ruined his view, and kept him trapped in here.

A hawk soured lazily over the field, and a flock of pigeons soured in from the opposite direction. He wished, not for the first time, that he had freedom like them.

In a cloud of anger, he jumped at the fence, but the wire did not give way. Again and again he tried, to no avail. Then another plan came to his mind. He started scratching eagerly at the dirt.

A farmhand approached and threw out several handfuls of corn. Gid looked between his indent in the dirt and the golden, delicious grains of corn raining onto the ground. He heard the sounds of other roosters tidbitting to the hens. He half-flew half-ran to the treat.

...

Carl flew in with the other pigeons. His wings were sore, but he didn't return to the loft. Instead, he explored around. He found a large run, with a lot of little birds in it.

Quail, I think. Let's go see if they're friendly!

He fluttered to the ground and peeked through the wire to see a gray quail sitting in the shadows of a bush. He had seen quail like this before, but not trapped in a cage.

"Hi there! What are you doing?" He asked.
