~*~The Rebellion - RP~*~

Eric walked up to the mic. "Colonel Uktral was a great soldier. He knew what to do, and when to do it. He was wise. And most of all, he was a friend." Eric took a breath, trying not to cry. "I was proud to be under his command. He will be missed." Eric saluted Uktral's family, then went to his seat.

Neytiri watched Karan stand up. Neytiri smiled, as Karan walked up. She picked Karan up and held her to the mic. "I would like to say a few words about my and my sister's father, Uktral. He was a great warrior, and defended the Omiticaya when we were under attack. I remember when I was two, and Daddy was teaching Neyney how to shoot. Neyney had an incredible bond with Daddy, as did I. I love you, Daddy." Karan got down from the mic, kissed two fingers, and brushed them against Uktral's coffin, before taking her seat on the other side of Austin.

Neytiri turned to the mic. "I wish to say a few words." She whispered. "I knew he would die a few days ago, when the Na'vi healing rite wasn't having any effect on him. I knew his heart was failing, however, his mind wasn't. He was full of words that he couldn't say before his passing. I knew, when my medicine had no effect, that he was dying. Father also knew he was dying, and he told me this. I couldn't do anything else that night, so I sang him 'Mea tu riimi' or 'Song of the Sun'. When I'd woken the next morning, I knew the last word I'd sung was the last thing he'd ever heard, before blackness folded over his vision. When I tried to rouse him from his sleep, he would not awake. I knew, once he would not awake, he was gone." She choked back a few tears. "When I was with Daddy when I was very young, his calm, deep voice became as soothing as rainfall on a window. A sound of the earth, of life itself. I'd listen to his stories as I fell asleep, wanting this magical life to go on forever. I suppose we all have times in our life that are milestones. That particular day," she faltered. "Was the saddest day of my life. I l miss you father. Oel ngatie kamieie."

Neytiri left the microphone and kissed her father's casket gently.
