He needs a larger flock of hens than I have. He’s a very attentive guy. Takes good care of his girls. Not been handled much but not an attack rooster either. Not sure about his weight but he’s a pretty big guy. I have some tiny buttercup hens and I’m afraid he’s too large for them.

Roosters name: Bruce (a.k.a. Bruce Wayne, a.k.a. Batman, because I named his red breasted brother Robin)

Breed: Barnyard mix, possibly 1/4 silkie but no clue on the rest of his ancestry. His earlobes look white in the photos but they actually have a bluish tint.

Weight: don't know

Age: 19 weeks

Size: Slightly larger than my Wyandotte and RIR hens, about the same size as my Buff Orpington hen (maybe a wee bit larger), and smaller than his brother Robin who is a RIR/Blue Andalusian cross (I think).

Bruce was raised by a broody hen so he has not been handled. He is younger than all but one of my hens/pullets and they taught him good manners but he does manage to get some breeding action in his clumsy adolescent way with no apparent feather loss on the hens. He doesn't like to be touched or picked up but is friendly otherwise and comes running for treats. I have seen him tidbitting the hens so I expect he will make a good flock leader.

I need to rehome him because I don't have enough hens for two roosters and we plan to keep Robin. I gave another cockerel from the same hatching to a friend to butcher but kept Bruce because I thought he would grow up to be an attractive rooster who deserves a chance at a flock of his own. I personally would have been happy rehoming whichever one went first and keeping the other but my husband prefers to keep Robin because he looks like a "normal" rooster (i.e. bright red single comb).

Rooster's name: Junior
Breed: Mixed (bielefelder x gold Polish)
Weight: standard large fowl, but he seems to be taking after his Polish side in the overall weight department
Age: around 6 months or so
About: he's not openly friendly, but he doesn't make sneak attacks, and doesn't mind being held. He's good to his hens. I just need to downsize.

I do not require a no-kill home for him.

Boy I wish you were near! I have 5 lovely boys that are non aggressive at 5 months old and the mature hens are teaching them manners. Such a shame cuz people look for good roosters. I hate the idea good ones are going to end up in freezer camp. NJ here.
I am doing the happy dance!!! All 5 of my cockerels went to a new home today!! This lady loves roosters and rescues I them. She is also part of an animal sanctuary.

Rooster’s name: Mildred (we were told he was a she….)

Breed: Turken/naked neck

Weight unknown, but he is larger than my dark brahma hen

Age: approx 6 months?

We purchased Mildred and his sister and believed them both to be hens, however we realized that Mildred was in fact, not. As we have neighbors close by and he has begun to crow, we are looking for a good home for him to go to (please don’t eat him :( ). He is not aggressive at all and is actually quite timid. Free to the right home
