The Remaining Wolves

Pics
Cedar took a swift glimpse at the darting wolf. He observed the frightening helicopter and realized it was hovering towards them.

The whirring noise influenced the intensity of the sinister chopper. And the deadly rotors.

Cedar pushed himself into a hard sprint. Eventually gliding past the speedy she-wolf.

Whisper didn't dare glance over her shoulder at the creepy machine or Cedar. Her eyes were strictly where on her desired path, and that was to avoid that helicopter.

Zarzuk detected protection beneath a aged fallen red tree. While River fulminated about humans. He recovered his considering eyes on the chopper. Debating on his tricky actions he contemplated to take.

Without another moment to think. Zarzuk raced to the tree corpse and slithered below it. His fangs released Darkness's now-mangy scruff. Allowing easier access in. His muzzle ushered the pup further beneath the vast tree. Concealing both from the sight of the helicopter and providing room for River.
As soon as the he-wolf bounded forward, River followed, skidding under the tree, where the two males waited.

Before River scrambled under the tree, Darkness glanced at the grey he-wolf. "Thanks for finding her. I'm Darkness."

Whisper didn't dare glance over her shoulder at the creepy machine or Cedar. Her eyes were strictly where on her desired path, and that was to avoid that helicopter.

However, the ferocious chopper was exceedingly swift. And soon was directly hovering over them. Oddly this chopper wasn't there to drench the raging flames.

A human dressed in heavy black attire. With sleek combat boots and Camoflauge paint across their face. Began to unleash darts upon the scampering wolves.

Cedar weave skillfully between the vast tree bases. Avoiding to get punctured by the shots.

Zarzuk's ears carefully monitored the noises on the outside. He bobbed his head at Darkness in a 'you're welcome'. "Of course." He muttered. "Mines Zarzuk. But some refer me as Zar for short." He indicated to the pup. His eyes glued to outside.

Dove's smile suddenly vanished. "I'm sorry. That must of been awful." she apologized with a deep forlorn tone. Her eyes drifted to the forest ground. "I'm not sure where mine are. I became of age and left them to began my life." she shared. Her gentle stare returned to him. "I don't...I assume those awful humans..." she muttered.

"You don't have to apologize," he woofed softly, pawing the ground. Her comment on the humans had unsettled him. Having spent more time with humans than other wolves, he often acted more like a human than a wolf. Does she really think humans are that bad? He thought, bewildered. His ears pricked up, there was the sound of a helicopter approaching. That helicopter must have come to put out the fires! I'll show Dove that humans aren't all bad. With that thought in mind, Stormcloud turned and dashed back up the hill. "Follow me!" He barked. He scrambled up the last few feet and stood upon the hill, tail raised.

Dove bobbed her head as she understood. She pondered as the silence grew between them. Her speckled paws shifted a little nervous about the tragic event. Her eyes monitored the docile wolf and noted his expressions clearly. He too was contemplating.

She listened to the distant whirring that shocked her out of her deep thought. Though, uncertain of where it harboured from.

She reluctantly bound into a sprint, trailing the wolf. She hastily came to his side. She peered anxiously into his. "You sure this is smart?" She barked into a question, seeking for his answer too. But in honesty didn't want to follow. Her tail curled slightly with fear, and ears flattened.

"Well... Stormcloud. If it was caused by thunderous storms wouldn't their be. Well you know dark clouds." She softly reminded then jerked her head skywards.

The gorgeous day without a ivory cloud in sight. The blazing sun bathing its warming light upon the plants that welcomed its rays. The lushly plants weaving softly by a gentle summer breeze.

Dove nervously shifted her paws, pondering on tragic event. Her eyes glanced at the docile wolf. She knew by his expression he obviously disagreed.

(Stormcloud didn't actually voice his opinions on humans out loud...)

Stormcloud was too busy squinting at the helicopter to reply. It didn't seem to be going directly towards the fire, which seemed odd. What is it doing? His tail dropped as he tried to figure out the object's strange behavior.

Dove paused a few paces from where he stood. Studying the threatening chopper. She worriedly monitored him then the machine from behind a fern. She didn't converse as she was intrigued.

The helicopter had no orange bowl attached below from it. To extinguish the raging flames. Instead it had a human dressed in heavy gear. Mounted on the side with door released. Unleashing darts upon wolves who were fearfully running.
