The Rhodebar thread!

Yes, he is one of two that I banded at wheaten at hatch... so I have been tracking them separately. They are both culls, but I am keeping them for comparison sake.
Oh good on the pullets... gives me a little more confidence that I have what I think I have.
The remaining chicks all fall somewhere in between. I believe I have a pullet who is took wheaten, and a handful of cockerels in the middle.
If you remember the 3 groups I tagged at hatch... This cockerel is one of the two in group 1... the 8 pullets above were group 3... the remaining chicks are in the middle color wise and are in group 2. Each of the group 3 pullets has a separate color leg band starting a few weeks ago to track them individually.
I am hoping the group 3 pullets will be my F1 breeders to produce my BC1, etc.

OK... here are 8 F1s that I'm assuming are pullets (there are more, but these were the darkest 8).
You can see leg color in some of these pics too. I also have a head shot of each one, but won't bore you with those. I'm assuming at this age it's the feathering you are curious about.
Ok... what do you see

black

blue

green

orange

pink

purple

red

yellow

And here's one of the cockerels who was lighter at hatch...

They look like mine did/do. Here is another pic of female second hatch.

The light feather tips disappeared on my females in my first hatch.

They disappeared? Now that's weird. Do you have before and after pic?

I will have to see if I have pics of them at the young age on my other phone. I think you have seen the pics of them now that they are older, three girls from my first batch. My second batch and first batch look the same and the second batch are feathering out the same way the first batch feathered out..

I guess if none of the females are barred I am going to have to rethink this project. I just don't have the room to hatch out hundreds of chicks trying to get a barred female.
