It stinks that the "family" is being hideous. Sounds like you have a good escape plan that may work out well for all. To be honest, we have lived places where we didn't fit in. Once the kids got to be bigger, it became more and more important that we move somewhere that we could live how we wanted to not be the odd ones out. I have no regrets moving up here, we have been so happy and the kids are thriving socially and otherwise. It sounds like Maine is a better fit for your family then where you are now. I hope you have a good move, and let us know how the flock re-establishment goes.

I have stayed off this thread, as I know exactly where you are, as I have been dealing with similar for the past few years.

It is a great sadness when families turn like this, but the saying is that you can choose your friends, but not family, and really we can choose our own families and stick with them in the future.

Thanks to you both for your wisdom advice and humour, and looking forward to you returning to BYC when you find some peace and quiet to bring your family through all of this pain.
