Can anyone help me determine a C.O.D?

I'm thinking injury, or attack - as this guy was found with his hackles flared and dead on the coop floor.

Pictures? It's a little disturbing.. My fiancée took the image, because I'm at work a little worked up thinking my head rooster Jagger is dead. However, it was definitely one of my meat crosses.

I must say, from what I can tell from looking at this pic, the poor thing looks a lot like the first roo I came home to....the one that DH told me my pup got a hold of...so my guess would be predator.

Sorry for your loss.

Not a single drop of blood according to Fiance. Neck was weird.

He could have been trampled by a goose or turkey...? It was under the roost. She took this guy outside because the others were pecking it.

And thank you for your condolences.

My roo didn't have any blood either. Pup was "playing" a little too rough. I think she broke his neck (she really "nudges" with her nose when she's trying to get attention). DH says she was "gnawing" on him (DH only saw it from a distance), but there was no blood, which leads me to believe she was "licking" on him.

I don't have any geese or turkey, so I'm not sure about that.

Yeah, Clem had killed a silkie the same way when she was a few months old. All it would take is one paw on a silkie from a big pup like her, and done. She was stiff when I found her, so it was hard to tell if something was broken, but she was right with Clem next to her bed inside the barn. Didn't take much to figure that one out, however - Clem was not out until my fiance got home, and this rooster was dead when she got there.
