Morning? What time is it over there?! Thankfully, it's raining on and off so I have an excuse not to go to soccer. I hate soccer training, I'm only in it for the matches

It's 11:21 PM over here; past my bedtime.

I keep forgetting that you're in Australia.

I did the same thing back when I was in Soccer and it was always fine. I got my practice through the matches themselves; whether I did well or not, I learned what I needed to there and it worked for me.

11:21? I regularly go to bed closer to midnight, because most of my favourite TV shows like NCIS end at 11:30

Never later than 12 though, or I get grumpy the next morning.
I didn't sleep well last night though, there was a rainstorm outside and goodness knows what had been blown over, was rolling around right outside my window. The leaves of the palm trees were slapping like crazy down onto the tin roof of the carport... well, let's just say I moved to my old room onto the hard, lumpy bed to sleep (where it's quiet) and I woke up sore

Yeah, I agree! We never did anything useful in training. I was only going for the award you get when you do a co-curricular activity for three years

Most things we forgot as soon as we hit the pitch, and what you say is true: lots more learnt from the games themselves.
