67 is the temp if you sit in front of a stove on a winter day here. Summer has to get past 95+F at least once for it to be a real summer IMO.

Same thing during the winter for us, it gets below freezing very often or at least a little more. But then we have central heating, which I'm really not used to.

Then it's never really summer here until August or oven July if you're lucky.

To me, summer is summer. The time of the year.

I'd take the woodstove anytime, thanks.

To me, summer is when one feels summer, doesn't matter if it's snowing, or if the calendar doesn't say it's summer. It's summer.

A woodstove wouldn't be enough here, but I like them and used to have one. Air conditioning is also new to me...

Yep!

Personally, i don't care if it only heats up one room. A wood stove and/or fireplace if is my fav source of heat, and even though it isn't as comfortable, its better, one way or another.

Don't get me wrong, I grew up my whole life with a fireplace when it was cold. I just moved not long ago to a colder place though, and because my house was newer I recieved central heating and air conditioning for the first time. It's nice and all, but I'll have to admit. I miss my real fireplace. All we have is this stupid, fake gas fireplace. I hate it.

My last home was built in the mid 60's, it didn't come with AC and it's expensive the have it put in. My other last home was rented, so we didn't really have a choice but to smolder in the heat and suffer. That place was like an oven...

Yeah, i understand. I would hate to have a house will all that stuff there.....Even if it is admittedly much more comfortable and nicer.

Smolder in the heat and suffer? only one word: water.

I agree with you. The smell of firewood and the whole idea of it is so comforting, even if it isn't half as warm as a heating system. I don't really have a choice though, I don't own the house I live in.

Yep. We usually left when it got that hot and did something water/shade related. Though, it was still about 100 degrees during the night, and outside it was about 60 or 70.
