The Rooster Curse

I didn't hatch these but the whole point of ordering 5 Old English bantams was to get some hens and roos so I could get hatching eggs. I had to order them straight run as that is the only way Ideal sells OE. I got 5 roosters.

Oh shucks, now I have to order more chicks.

I was listening to my flock yesterday, and wondering .... my loudest birds are laying hens, not roosters. I wonder how city folk get by with all the nest squabbling and eggsonging. Or do city hens (without roosters and flock-mates gone on the range) keep much quieter?
