The Silver Laced Wyandotte Thread

Not sure ? They said pullets. However I got 2 EE that were suppose to be ameraucana but turned out to be EE and it's looking like ones a cockerel. I already have the perfect rooster! He knows his place ! Sweet to his girls and my kids. Next year I will hatch my own eggs

Oh, so I'll send you lots of ' pullet vibes '. Fingers crossed, you get a better ratio than mine.

Hmmm... Please forgive me if I'm wrong, but those look like golden laced. it could just be the lighting :idunno

well lighting and my cell photos tend to be on the yellow side. i had trouble with consistancy in lighting. but then again i wouldnt be duprised... i dont really care that much just long as they lay eggs. but like the looks of the bird and they just dont seem to be showing feathers like you would expect but sone one said that those featgers even would change as they got bigger

What signs do I need to look for? I'm am realizing one of my 3 RIR us also a cockerel :/ from the same feed store. Lola is so smart ! Observant, sassy, in to everything ! Loud, follows me, pushes the bigger chicks as far as she can. She's obsessed with biting my lips. Kinda funny. I'm crossing my fingers she stay Lola ! I'm not familiar with this breed. Any info would help ! Thank you for your pullet vibes ! I'm getting worried.

I was thinking the same thing, but I'm no expert.

It could just be the flash, but you do tend to get a little redness in some chicks at this age.

Beautiful pictures, and birds

everything I got was from the pullet bins and so far I have at least 3 for sure Roo's, but out of 44 I don't think those re bad odds.

No not at all! They weren't sexed ? Run of the mill?

??? Do you mean "straight run" (unsexed chicks)? Since the OP stated the chicks came from the "pullet bin" that would indicate they were, in fact, sexed - and for 3 of 44 to be mis-sexed is actually pretty good given that with vent sexed chicks you have 5-10% risk of a mis-sexing.

Yes, my first 4 were straight run. Ended up with 1 Roo. Who I love dearly! The 3 RIR were from feed store labeled as pullets. However, I highly suspect one is a Roo. We also got two Ameraucana pullets. Which turned out to be EE. That doesn't bother me. I like EE. However, once again I have a feeling one is also a Roo:( my one SLW is definitely a pullet :) I love her !!! Smart little girl and a lover! I'm trying to figure this out sooner then later. I am going to send them to a friend who has 20 hens if that's the case. So they will be happy and treated well. I truly hope they are pullets! So yes with all that being said, you got a great ratio!

Plus your Rooster will be happy boys! :)

yes they were from the pullet bin, they were all supposed to be female, but that don't always happen.

this is my little girl Lola at 2 days 1 week and a week n half. She has started to grow her tail. Awww it's so cute !! She is a lover! I need to take updated photos. I already have 3 EE 3RIR. I couldn't pass her up ! She's the only silver lace I own. Can't wait to see what a beauty she becomes!!
Can anyone tell me if they believe Lola is a SLW ? That' is what I bought but not sure if I got? Either way I love her dearly!!! Just have had some issues with the place I have purchased my girls from. Thanks in advance!
