The Silver Laced Wyandotte Thread

Pics
I would like to know if you know if a bad eye means worms.

I have three young Gold Laced Wyandottes who came from a reputable breeder, and a young, but slightly older Buff Orpington who came from the same breeder but lived elsewhere for a month while I sorted the pen. I have one Wyandotte who is lame but happy and is able to get around but drags her leg. She is on antibiotics as the vet thought she had hurt her leg at the joint. I have another who hangs out with her who is blind in one eye. The Buff and other Wyandotte hang out together but they all seem to get on. They wouldn't go in their house with the Buff so I thought she was pecking but it may have been mites so that has been sorted. The three GLW sleep huddled outside in the day in garden and in though hen house at night even though one follows the Buff around. They are all in a very clean environment and are free range in the garden now so I can keep a closer eye on them. It is the eye I am worried about as she appears to be blind in it. I can't give them all worming tablets until the lame (Lacey) Wyandotte comes off her meds or can I? The more I read the more confused I am.

I would love to purchase eggs (to hatch) or chicks. I am a newbie and just starting to build my flock and these are absolutely beautiful. Love the markings. I would prefer to buy local instead of ship but if I can't find local anybody willing to ship? I am really interested in getting a few as I think they would be a great addition to my flock! TIA

Well since breeding is at a close around here, I am happy to report I have 7 SLW growing out. I only had two hens, and one of them passed away of old age in May. I think there is 2 pullets, and one to young to tell yet. At least I have 2 of them to evaluate and see if they will go into the breeding program. I had purchased some hatching eggs from Dick Horstman. I got one really nice pullet out of that hatch. I will be getting pics as soon as they all have there feathers in. They are taking there sweet time coming in.

This is my hatchery Wyandotte April who is now 30 weeks old. She sure looks ready to lay, but no eggs yet. Are Wyandottes late layers?
