The Sizzle Thread!

I have a soft spot for the single combed silkies/sizzles. I know they're not good for breeding but they're so cute and wonky looking

length of comb doesn't matter much either because its a matter of how much of a dose of the single comb they get, some boys will have tiny little combs and some girls large combs its kind of a grab bag with sizzles.

Interesting--so, is a single comb undesireable, and I should avoid breeding him/her because of it?

Ok, I am having the hardest time figuring out if I have a pullet or cockerel with this one. Its pretty high on the pecking order, but not the highest, very attentive, but scared easily too (loud noises and such) stands tall for awhile, then crouches for me….An ambiguous chicken with an equally ambiguous name.

Meet Clover a 15th generation sizzle, she/he is 11 weeks old.

I think silkies are easier to sex than these guys! Clovers hatch mate was an obvious boy, early comb, slow to feather, very very boy attitude, and I was always sure Clover was/is a pullet, but lately the attitude has me wondering. Also its my sons chicken, so it would be impossible if he picked out a pullet. IMPOSSIBLE.

Comb shots

Im sorry none of these are great. I will say Clovers comb is no more developed than her big sisters. As far as comb Im definitely leaning towards pullet.
