The Sizzle Thread!

I read earlier today that a sizzle can also look just like a silkie with all the silkie traits (including the silkie feathers) and just carry the sizzle gene?? If this is true would you breed it with a cochin without the frizzled gene to get another generation of sizzles????

Matter of fact it was a breeder on www.davesgarden.com and this is what she posted "To explain Sizzles...Cross a Frizzled bird, I used Cochins because they have feathered feet, to a Silkie and you will get 4 different types of Sizzles
Type #1 You will get the Sizzles I'm breeding for, like Boop, curled hard feathers, top knot, blue skin, five toes & Silkie combs.

Type #2 smooth feathers with topknots, 5 toes, blue skin & Silkie combs.
Type #3 what I call Frilkies are frizzled Silkies with all the Silkie traites but the feathers curl.
Type #4 Look just like Silkies but, carry the genetics for curly feathers and ...hopefully ..all the other traits your after.. as do all of the other types.
As you probably know, you can't breed curly to curly so all the types are necessary."

No this information is false you can only get silkied feathers AFTER the 1st generation when crossed back to a silkie. Now when breeding sizzles AFTER the 1st generation(1st you will only get hard feathered birds) yes you will get those 4 types, but no the normal silkie feathered birds and the smooth feathered birds will not carry the gene for frizzling

Yeah looks like a regular silkie. Might be bred from a sizzle breeding but turned out with regular silkie feathers. Also, a sizzle is a silkie with hard frizzle feathers, if it is frizled it might be a frizled silkie. But the feathers don't look like frizzled silkie feathers to me just regular silkie feathers.

Well what if it came from a frizzled? Does that mean that it carries the frizzle gene?? Sorry for all the questions.
