THE SMOKERS QUIT CAMPAIGN - ADDITONAL NOTES

thank you all for your support.

We will get there,

Toletiquesbysam, you are so right this is not about any one else, it is for us. Nobody else breathes for us, or goes through the agony of illness or disability.

If we want to give up this awful addiction and put all that effort, health and money into something that will make us happy then it is up to us.

mark, thanks for the poems, really good.

Thank you all.

Jena.

This is going to be tough.....
I had to send out my laptop to be fixed, and I totally dislike my husbands computer. Today I set limits for myself, making myself wait before smoking. In fact, thats what I am doing now. The weird thing is, the craving DID go away.
I've been keeping busy. Tomorrow, I'll set my "smoke time" even farther apart. I'm trying to prepare myself, but I think it'll be better to do all or nothing.
I know I'll be posting alot more tomorrow and in the next few days. I know I can do this... We all can!
Are we all getting ready to put on our no smoking suits? They will smell sooo nice. And our breath will smell better. Our hair will smell better.

Oh, and my DH is a smoker, a heavy smoker. I know it wont make me crave smoking more. In fact, it'll help me quit seeing and smelling his stinky cigarettes. I just wish I could go on a house cleaning spree, and reward myself with a beautiful smelling house.

Okay guys, 1 more full day....
I can do it, I can DO IT
I CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!

I have about 16 left in my pack, then I am done.
I am sooooo ready to be smoke free, my clothes smelling good, my hair, my mouth MY EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so darn excited about this!!!

(I am sure those feeling are going to be changing in about 2 days BUT I dont care!!!)

*SIGH* Big deep breath......

I was planning to wait for the 1st to get here but when I ran out today I decided to just stay that way. So far so good. I am actually quite content and happy right now. Cooking some horrible frozen pizza for dinner and just spending time with my kiddos. Oh, get this, we were at a store earlier and my kids snuck around (*disclaimer*it is a little local store ran by sweet mennonites where I don't have to watch them like a hawk because they KNOW us and wouldn't let anyone take my kids) and used their own money to buy me gum and hard candies as a gift.

How could I NOT quit smoking!!!!!!

Awesome RickiHupp....yes, you can do it!!! We all can and I am so excited too!!! For everyone of us!!

Wonderful on setting those limits LilBizzy!!!! I agree with you, I think staying VERY busy is going to be the key to helping us all quit.

Oh dear, I was going to go back and individually post on everyone who updated but I smell my pizzas cooking too much!!! OOPSY!!!!

Updates anyone else?????

Somewhat good news coming from our house last night. Last week we noticed that Marlboro has changed something with the cig's. There was a law passed awhile ago about the cigs needing to be able to put thierselves out (supposedly to stop houses from burning down from lit cigs) .. Well, they taste different. Noticably different. In a yucky worse then a cigarette taste, lol
Soooo, we've decided to try stopping too, just cause they taste ewwy bad! lol

You can all do it! I smoked almost 2 packs a day for 20 years and I quit almost 9 years ago. It's NOT easy but it really wasn't as bad I I feared it would be.
If you don't make it this time keep trying! You can do it!!!! I will be thinking of you all and sending "no nicotine fits" thoughts to all!
Good Luck

im confident in all of you and heres an idea! to keep your mind off of the cigs go to the new years party in the chatroom tomorrow night! itll give yu something else to think about and remember i and severalothers are available to talk to if you need someone to help support you in the hardest time!

I'm getting nervous/excited. I'm a bit more confident that I will be able to do it. I have delayed smoking today- every time I wanted a smoke, I waited to smoke.
I found out hubby will be working a double tomorrow, so once he leaves for work, I'm going to start cleaning. I'm gonna wash walls, ceilings, shampoo carpets, steam clean furniture. He may not like it, but I am going to ask him to only smoke outside or in his "guy room"- with the door shut. I will probably go to the store tomorrow and get some Nicorette gum. Just in case I need it.
How's everyone else doing? Are we ready???
And how's our cheermaster? are you ready too?

and I agree- those fire safe cigs do taste different. In my brand, it wasn't that noticable a taste change. But husband hates the new ones. Hmm, maybe he'll be motivated to quit too..
