THE SMOKERS QUIT CAMPAIGN - ADDITONAL NOTES

Quote:
YESSSSSSSSS I want so bad to have it a week or more in the past. I think it will be so much easier then!

Now if I can just get my hubby to quit. I mentioned it again when I talked to him last night. He said "I won't make any promises hon"...so that doesn't mean no.

I spent yesterday doing the little cleaning things that I always try to get out of. My catch-all cabinet, now has clean shelves and it's totally organized. I refused to have a smoke break untill it was all done. Took me two hours to go through each small thing, wipe down, figure out just where it's real home belonged, then put it there. lol Was tedious, but worthwhile, I wanted 3 cigs while doing it, limited myself to 1 when I was finished-- so I skimmed off 3 cigs of my habit for yesterday.
Today, I aim to tackle the bathroom. Usually, I'll have one after I scrub each item, 1-toilet, 1-tub, 1-sink, 1-floor.. If I make myself wait until I finish, then I'll shave another 3 off my daily intake.

LOL

When it really hit me was when someone asked me for a light and I grabbed for it ... then I laughed and said, "Oh I'm sorry, I don't smoke."
It's a nice feeling to be rid of that monkey on your back.

Stay strong and push through the cravings and you'll have 'em beat.

I forgot to mention, one of the things I would do when I had a craving was I would slam a glass of water. Just fill a glass and slam it as quick as ya can. (Safely, of course, LOL)

I'd do other things as well ... a brisk walk around the garage (when at work) or down to the end of the block and back. Just anything to focus my attention elsewhere. After the cravings passed, I felt awesome!

The cravings will subside, but the first week or so is the hardest!

Stay strong, hang tight and dont let those little fragile pieces of garbage continue killing you AND taking your hard earned money!

English Chick, you were at 20 a day??? Wow, what progress you've made, although I'm sure your addiction-brain-cells are cussing you out big time right now, and will for a while.

The horrible thing about nicotine is the physical addiction combined with the emotional comfort of lighting up. Best wishes to you all!
