I wait 16 weeks, but by then I'm just sick of them causing a racket and being penned up, so I let them free-range with the big girls. I wait so long mostly because I've got a lot of big girls that are really mean too. I would wait a little longer, but you could take them out there in a wire cage and see what happens......Then if you do let them out, keep an eye on them for a while.

ok so the 4 poof heads are pretty much fully feathered(well I think they are) so COULD I just put them in with the red jungle fowl or would that be a bad idea?

No, you can not just put them in. You need to let them be seen, but not touched. You need to do this for several weeks. Then do supervised mingling. THEN ranging together. If you just throw them in together now, you will end up with injured chicks. Right now a chicken wire pen with in the current pen would be the best way to introduce. You'd need 4 step in posts, to make a square, then cut your chicken wire, AND run chicken wire over the top to keep the JF out... Or, get the cheap-o plastic fencing thats 4 feet tall, and make a pen out of that... Its is much more versatile.

Is your plan to coop them together over the winter then? You definetly need to start introductions now then... Remember, a few weeks of being SEEN but NO CONTACT. If you can do this till they are about 2 months, you should be fine. If you could build a 4x4 coop for the poof heads, that would be better, even if it is a temp coop that is secure, but can be taken apart for repurposing, OR used again as a brooder box for later needs... It is always good to have a hospital/brooder/broody coop...

GOOD Maniacal laugh piper lol .. my kids discoverd the hawk that has been hanging around for two years i snow big enough to carry off squirrels .. i am so glad we decided to cover the new run when we built it and that it has pleanty of tree coverage over it as well.... hes a red tailed hawk from the looks of things ...

See, I can do some serious mania... I am BP. I can ramble your ear off and you will not even realise what I am doing when I do it because I do it so well I don't even need to add a period to the sentances I create that can go on and on for a very long time with out stopping and you will wish that I would just stop talking and stay on one subject instead of hopping around and around and you feel dizzy trying to keep up with me while I try and keep up with my kids who do not seem to know what the meaning of sit down and shut up so I have to plug my ears and pray for duct tape to tape them to the wall and contemplate how many rolls and of what color I will use to tape them to a wall, since there are so many different colors and patterns now you can make dresses and wallets cuz I do need a new wallet and I think a cheetah print duct tape wallet would be totally awesome and help me to fit in to the ultimate show called jerseylicious which is so much better than that stupid jerseyshore even if it has a sister show called chicagolicious now which sucks even worse than homework that I am so lucky that I do not have to do anymore except when I have to help my kid to do his homework....

I made a duck tape dress once it was retro style, blue tie-dye, hot pink and peace signs WOOT!!!!!!! And not only can I ramble but I can do it while calling my dad "The Dude" as he sips a white Russian and throw in weird faces {<>,<>} (owl) too so there, that kind of maniacal. AND the kind caused by teenage angst •____• WOO!
