Is it on the left foot by chance?

Ok, DH left me here alone for a minute, so i have a question for you ladies

Opinions, please:

I was brought up that it is your hard work and the little extras that get you noticed in life, but it has been my experience at my jobs that it is who you know and how you look that get you promoted. (I still get noticed, thanked, but passed for promotion)

Is this anyone else's experience too? Most of my aquaintances say "brands don't matter" "who cares what others think" and stuff along that line, which normally i would agree with, but i'm hitting mid-life and i want to do better at my next job.

I also like keeping my house company-ready (i have no kids) and i feel that it is more welcoming to guests than having to clear a seat, but with this crowd it goes mostly unappreciated.........

Am i being too obsessive, or is there something to this "if you want to get treated first class you have to look first class" stuff???

Nope. I'm usually the one who talks to myself.

George, his mate Jazzy and a Pomeranian were adopted a few weeks ago. They are very sweet and very smart! I hadn't had geese for many years so it was very exciting to take them in!
