That is precisely the reason we couldn't defend ourself very well. If we had made the slightest pretense of fighting back during the invasion, some people (not saying any names) would have claimed that we were an evil and ruthless empire, murdering the poor defenseless freedom-fighter duckies.

After the ducks had taken over the plannets however, the found a research lab and activated a terrible new weapon. We intercepted some documents outlining an evil plan to destroy the entire Saurian population using the weapon. We then had no choice but to manufacture those helmets and resist the ducks, regardless of what Q--, um, some people would say.
